Carrols’ Pollo Tropical® restaurants are known for their fresh, never frozen, grilled chicken, marinated for 24-hours in our proprietary blend of tropical fruit juices and spices, as well as authentic “made from scratch” side dishes. The first Pollo Tropical restaurant opened in 1988 in Miami, Florida. Pollo Tropical became a part of the Carrols family in 1998.

Today, we have more than 90 company-owned Pollo Tropical restaurants in Florida, New Jersey and Georgia. We also have several franchised locations at Florida universities. In addition, we have approximately 30 Pollo Tropical restaurants owned and operated by franchisees in Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Trinidad & Tobago, Honduras and the Bahamas, and we have entered into development agreements for additional franchised restaurants including up to 5 in Panama. Pollo Tropical employs over 2,700 people and has its corporate headquarters in Miami, Florida.
